WoW Classic: Hotfixes for C'Thun's eye beam and scepter items

The first WoW Classic players were able to master the opening of Ahn'Qiraj and tackle the new raid challenges in the last few days. However, the events also revealed two issues that Blizzard has already corrected with corresponding hotfixes. On the one hand, C'Thun, the final boss from the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj , only cast his dangerous eye beam with a strong delay, which made the fight far too easy. Secondly, the designers have changed the quality of the quest items in the job chain around crafting the Scepter of Sandstorms to Epic, making it easier to distribute the items into the right player hands.

Hotfixes are updates that are applied server-side without the need to download new data. Some of the changes listed below will take effect as soon as Blizzard implements them, while others will only take effect after an announced realm restart. Please note that some issues cannot be fixed without a client-side patch.

WoW Classic: Hotfixes from 05 August 2020

• The Blue Scepter Shard, Green Scepter Shard, and Red Scepter Shard quest items are now Epic quality.
  • Developers' note: We're changing the item quality on the Scepter Shard quest items to Epic (purple) so that they'll be easier to distribute to the correct person in raids using Group Loot or Master Looter.
• Fixed an issue that caused C'Thun within Temple of Ahn'Qiraj to incorrectly delay casting Eye Beam when engaging in combat.
